Lauren Pak, a Junior at Virginia Tech, is majoring in Multimedia Journalism. Lauren had an experience that she will never forget her first year on campus. One day her Freshman year she was hanging out in her room, she decided to go outside of her comfort zone. She wanted to do something several of her friends had asked her to do for a while now. So she went out and did it. She attended a Cornerstone Christian Fellowship meeting in Hahn Hall. This meeting helped her become a part of the community that she had been missing out on.

Cornerstone Christian Fellowship, also known as CCF, is a non-denominational group that meets every Friday night at 7 p.m. in North Hahn Hall. Lauren tries to attend every meeting possible. "I think it is important to find a community or a niche during your Freshman year of college", said Pak. Pak said that going to the meeting that day broke her out of her comfort zone.

"The experience that had occured was unique because it changed her mindset", said Pak. The first meeting that she attended gave her a new perspective in a new place. The group provides a close knit community and a simliar faith for her at her age right now. Pak also said that it opened her eyes to a new opportunity instead of just being alone and sitting in her dorm room watching Netflix all day. "The CCF gives you a new mindset and better values", said Pak.

The experience started out by some of her friends persuading her to attend one of the meetings and now she physically lives with three of them. Esther, Se Jin, and Jiwon are some of her closest friends now and are all a part of the CCF. They all live together in the Hunter's Ridge apartment complex.
