CNN Summary Blurbs

CNN does a very good job with their summary blurbs on their headline stories. I do believe that CNN clearly identifies the main point of most stories. The case of "Baby Doe" is a good example from Sept. 21st. Saying that the boyfriend allegedly punched the toddler because he believed she was possessed would get any reader interested.
The top stories on the left typically are the first ones I click on because they are easy to get to. Typically stories about gun rights, or homicides entice me the most. I am a deer hunter and that is why the gun rights topics entice me the most. Second, homicide stories are interesting because it is fun to see how people try to get out of killing someone when they know they are going to gt caught. The main reason I like this is because of the television show Criminal Minds.
I believe if the summary blurb gives away too much information, then readers will not read the entire story. I believe summary blurbs should give away enough information for the reader to get enticed so they will continue reading.
I prefer short paragraph summary blurbs. Again, too much information will make a reader continue moving through the news instead of stopping and reading.
